How It Works
The motorized Voltstair helps ascend & descend large, heavy, and unwieldy items in the safest way possible.
Ascending
STEP 1
The Approach
With the load secured and the Voltstair’s handlebar and tracks folded out, back it up to the staircase until the tracks are approximately 10” from the bottom stair. Then, pull the handlebar towards you until the tracks are resting on the stairs.
STEP 2
The Ascent
While applying pressure on the handlebar towards the stairs, press the green button and begin walking backwards up the stairs. The tracks will lock in place automatically if you stop pressing the green button.
STEP 3
The Platform
When you reach the top of the stairs, continue walking the Voltstair backwards over the top landing until the front wheels have cleared the edge of the top stair. Then tip the Voltstair forwards onto its flat ground wheels.
Descending
STEP 1
The Approach
With your load secured and the tracks and handlebar folded out, tip the Voltstair back to the approximate angle of the staircase you’re planning to descend. Press the yellow button to rotate the tracks to move down the stairs, as you slowly walk toward the stairs, maintaining the angle of the tracks until they are pressed flush against the stairs.
STEP 2
The Descent
Continue to press the yellow button while you walk down the stairs behind the Voltstair, and apply pressure on the handlebar towards the stairs. You should not be pulling back on the weight of the load- let the powered tracks do the heavy lifting and just press down on the handlebars.
